After the success of the first dyno day we filmed back in March it was time to get some more Type R's together to see how the various parts and tunes compared. The original plan was to have all JDM DC5's but that was a big ask as they are few and far between. There was interest from other Hondas so we couldn't say no. Therefore we decided to open the dyno day up to all K20 and all Honda's owners in general. We used the same dyno as last time to keep the results consistent so that we can start to build a picture of what mods, make what differences.
The plan is to do the same for some ek9's and dc2's next.
The weather was bad (snow) and it looked like the dyne day was going to be cancelled but at the last minute the snow cleared and the cars turned up.
Please subscribe, comment and share the video, the plan is to do one every couple of months so keep an eye on reelmotion.co.uk for updates
17 out of the original 25 on the list turned up and the individualy power runs can be found in the Dyno League.
Well once the snow had cleared it was time to get a couple of DC5's together for a Rolling Road day at Surrey Rolling Road.
This should serve as a good benchmark and base power run for the coming season. The question is, will anyone be able to improve the power as the season progresses?
The cars included 5 x JDM ITR DC5's. The rolling road is a dyno dynamics and arguably the most consistant in the UK .
We documented each performance part that had been fitted to each car to allow us to review which parts performed best.
First up was Dave who achieved 215.7hp using the following parts:
